After re-reading "Adventures in Knitting", I wanted to add a link to a definition of the term Mummeleh. I typed it into Google and got 2 links. And, Google politely asked me if I was looking for Mammals. So I did a search for Yiddish Dictionary and came up with this. I stand corrected. Apparently it's spelled "Mommellah" and it means "an affectionate term for a little girl." I guess I meant "Bubbellah" which means grandmom.
rating: 5 of 5 stars I know a few critics have accused David Sedaris of losing his "edge", but honestly, how can you say that about a man who freely admits to wearing a prosthetic posterior? One of the things that keep me reading DS and belly-laughing is the idea that some of this stuff might actually be true...
